Cool, Calm and Collected
Available in natural or peppermint flavours
This is the key supplement designed to help horses remain calm and to improve schooling, competition and hacking. Some of the key nutrients in this product are stored in the body so a 'loading period' is
recommended. For most horses this will be a month feeding the supplement at high levels, five days a week for roughly one month. Each horse is different - some take longer and some are quicker. The best
test of whether or not the horse has loaded is to se if the behaviou deteriorates on the 'off' days. After loading the benefits for most hosres are 24/7. Just a few horses never achieve this and for them we
suggest you separate the two 'off' days. A very few horses struggle to control the blood levels of some key nutrients when first put onto Cool,
calm and Collected. These horses may exhibit quite big 'mood swings' during the early weeks. When they are properly loaded and on a five day regime this will settle down.
After the loading period the quantity given can be reduced. Typically horses cope well at 1/3rd of the loading amount. But, again, some need more and some need less. Only experimentation will tell you. If
behaviour deteriorates revert to the loading quantity for a while and then try a different frequency. Do not feed Cool, Calm and Collected seven days a week for any significant length of time. The 'on/off'
regime actually exercises the horse's ability to control the blood levels of certain nutrients more precisely.
Cool, Calm and Collected can also be used prior to specific events. Feed when the horse is not stressed (stressed horses will not absorb the nutrients properly) and allow at least 30 minutes between feeding

amounts of sugars into the body when it is utilised, these animals respond less well to it. So DS Cool, Calm and Collected is designed to be completely sugar free. This also means that its absorption
characteristsics are different and, not surprisingly some horses respond less well to it. A very few get on better with it!
Because of the different nature of some ingredients the volume of material given is much less than the original Cool, Calm and Collected.
